While looking through Apple Music I found a whole bunch of Julio Iglesias albums in English and I remember when my mom and I would listen to Julio Iglesias sing in English we would laugh because when Julio would sing in English he sounded like Dracula and I could never ever figure out how Julio Iglesias got big in English but he sounded better in Spanish? Was it because Julio wanted to crossover into the English language market and try to attract the English speaking audience like so many of the Spanish language singers did?

Julio Iglesias had a huge push by publicity firms to try to make himself famous in the US. Unfortunately it worked, although I'll never understand why. It's one thing to have trouble speaking English, like Luciano Pavarotti, but Iglesias couldn't really sing.

My godmother went to see Julio Iglesias in concert once because she really had a big crush on him and when she heard him sing my godmother got all dreamy and was in heaven. I don't know if my godfather went with her but when my godfather told Mom and I the story she went with some friends and so after the concert my godfather bought my godmother a cassette of Julio Iglesias's 1983 album Julio which no longer played today because it broke when my godfather gave it to my mom and she loved Julio too. My godmother loved Julio Iglesias so much she had almost every one of his albums on records
