I watched UM with my mom in 1995-1996.
Am curious, what year did UM start doing reruns of the older shows? Am wondering if there’s any chance I watched a pre 95 episode back then?

Hmm....I am not sure I quite understand your question, but they were doing reruns pretty much immediately with the specials. For instance, this is from the UM Wiki --
Special 6 with Robert Stack
First Aired: May 6, 1988 (repeated September 14, 1988 and December 27, 1989)
That is/was the nature of network TV - they would air repeats occasionally within the season and then all thru the summer off season.
In addition, Unsolved Mysteries would often repeat segments within season as filler.
In further addition lol - Lifetime was definitely running reruns in 1995.

Yes, as ghosthouse said, the reruns began almost immediately. In fact, I’m pretty sure that its suitability for repeat airings (as well as being cheap to make in the first place) was one of the show’s greatest selling points.
When updates aired, Robert Stack attributed many a solved case to a “re-broadcast.”
