IMO, Alison Sweeney is a terrible actress. Let her stay with those horrible Hallmark ROMCOM movies. Please keep her away from Days of our Lives. I can't stand her caterwauling and her horrendous over-acting.

My favorite actress on this list is Sharon Case.

I don't agree about Christel Khalil. She's a very good actress but her character could be played by someone else if need be IMO.

Louise Sorel should have been on the list. She's the only true "Vivian Alimain" (DOOL) IMO.

Jess Walton is a recast Jill. The actress who used to play Jill was fired 30+ years, allegedly due to her affair with the creator of Y&R.

The actress who plays Lily can easily be replaced, in fact, I think she was replaced years ago before Christel returned.

I said the same thing about Christel. She's a good actress but I think she could easily be replaced. Remember when Michelle Stafford's "Phyllis" was replaced with Gina Tognoni? I eventually got used to Gina. I wonder what she's doing now.

Michelle used to be the better Phyllis, but some of her acting choices hurt to watch nowadays.

As for Gina, I don’t know what happened to her. It seems like she hasn’t been in anything since Y&R.

If we can include old soaps, Victoria Wyndham (although a recast herself years ago when Robin Strasser left) could not be recast in the Rachel Cory/Rachel Hutchins role on Another World. Also when her AW husband Mac Cory (Douglass Watson) died, his role was not recast.

A terrible recast from many years ago was when DOOL recast Peter Reckell's "Bo" with Robert Kelker-Kelly. "Bo" is someone who can not be recast, may he rest in peace.

Funnily enough Sharon Case was a re-cast when the writers brought the character into the show way back in '94. There was one, or was it two actresses who played the part in very quick succession before Case arrived. Even the Mother (Doris?) was played by a much older actress at the start.

Laura Wright is the THIRD actress to play Carly on GH. IMHO, Tamara Braun was WAY better as Carly.

Sandra Nelson was the first recast of Phyllis.

Finola Hughes as Anna Devane is another one who can't be recast. General Hospital tried with Camila Moore in late 1991, but that was a horrible recast.

There were rumors that GH was going to try to recast the role of Tiffany Hill for the tribute episode to John Reilly because Sharon Wyatt has had some health issues over the years (including reconstructive jaw surgery) and she lives in Tennessee. Sharon ended up being part of the tribute episode via a voice over part where Tiffany speaks with Laura and Annie on the phone. Tiffany is a role that can't be recast.
