I don't think this has been a post before, so sorry if it was, but who si your role model in life? Who do you most look up to and wnat to be like? For me it is Justimne Bateman because she was very smart (even though she played a ditz), she is very independant, she over acme adversities, very ambitious and determind,and she is beautiful.

Not only is she like the best actress...and she can sing....but she went to Tijuana and helped all these little kids....aw it sounded so sad. She has pictures too. On her website. But I don't think they're there any more. ANYWAYS. Yea....

Hmmmmmm. My principal... she's truly a wonderful person. Strong, beautiful, independent, friendly, everything. She's really done something with her life. I mean I know being a school principal isn't exactly your typical dream job, but she's just truly a wonderful person.

Since I want to be a writer, I would say Rod Serling is my role model. That man had brains, but didn't think he had talent. He was so wrong on that part. He just wrote all those insane stories that have that tricky little twist ending thing going on. I love his works. Yep, I would say he is my role model.

Linda Webster. My mans mom LOL. She is my 2nd mom. I don't know what I would do without her. She is one of the best friends I've had in my entire life. She has always been there for me no matter what. There are some things that I can't even talk to my own mom about and with her I can. If it wasn't for Linda I don't know if I would even be here today. I thank god everyday for her being in my life.

Kelly osbourne!!!! Shes my role model cuz shes just really cool and her clothes and hair etc are awesome. Shes a real good person on the inside cuz she dont care what ppl think of her and she defends herself when ppl make funna her

Two people:

#1) CHER! Whenever she was at a low, she always came back better than ever! Plus, she doesn't care what people think of her, which I truly admire becuz I do care what people think of me. Plus, she's the only person who can turn back time.

#2) SHIRLEY MANSON, lead singer of Garbage. She struggled through her teenage years and went through a lot of issues into her adulthood. And on some levels, I can identify with her. But she turned her angst, anger, and heartbreak into beautiful songs and ended up selling over 9 million albums with her band so far! You go, Shirley!

Richard Dawson- why? I don't know, it's complicated. But I honestly think he's just a great human being. Good dad, talented artist, no-nonsense approach to living. He didn't care what people thought, he was going to speak his mind. I wish I could.

Ellen Burstyn cuz I really want to get into acting and that sort of thing and she's had such a successful coureer I home mine could be that way. *Sigh*

Nancy McKeon...she's just so cool and is an amazing actress. She's worked so hard to get where she is and I have a lot of respect for her.

Maura Tierney - I think she's a really great actress, especially because her being an actress was just an accident to begin with. Some of her hand motions can be really funny...and she's pretty too. And she's really nice and she's just a really good person. Mmkay....getting watery....ahhh.

I would say Ewan...but...um...he's done some nude stuff...and...just...no. So, I gotta say...Natalie Portman. She's had really good roles in movies, she's going to Harvard, and yea. I really like her as a person. Mmhmm.

No role model for me; never really was one.

But I always admired Marie Osmond (who is younger than I, BTW). She's a strong woman with brains and beauty and talent, but who has her priorities in life straight.

I pick Lisa Whelchel because she is so cool, a great actress and a very strong christian and that helped her to not end up like most child stars (same with the other fol girls). I think it is great that she goes around and preaches at different churches and tryies to let people know how important it is to have god in your life. I also look up to her because she choose family over fame and fortune I mean it was nice to see her in the fol reuion movie and it would be nice to see her in more things but like she said that takes her away from her family and family should be your number one priority but I do love her book the facts of life and other things my father taught me, I can't wait for her next book.

I also choose Michael J. Fox because he a really good actor, he seems like a very nice person and he is such a HOTTIE. Also he isn't letting his Parkinson's knock him down most people would be devistated or would be embaressed because of that and hide themselves but he isn't letting that happen he is faceing this head on, here is a great example of that "Parkinson's made me stronger. Okay....I have five people that I really admire a lot: Bette Midler, Selena, Donna Summer, Shakira, Bonnie Bedelia and Cher. For me, they're all role models but only two of them really touched my life in a big way.

Bette Midler: When I was 7 years old I saw her in a movie called "Hocus Pocus". Now to a 7 year old thats the greatest movie that they've ever seen. In that movie, Bette Midler got up on stage and sang one of the dumbest songs in the world, but that song changed everything for me. The little performance of that song made me realize my dream of performing. I had always loved to sing and act but when I saw her do what she was doing I said "I wanna do that". I was kind of in awe. From then on, I totally idolized Bette Midler. Everything she did I wanted to do. And when my parents seperated, Bette's movies and music got me through that difficult time. During that time is when I realized what peforming was all about. I also realized how much inspiration Bette had given me and that she touched my life.



Selena: Before Selena died I had no idea who she was. In 1997, when the movie "Selena" came out, I went to see it and thats when I learned who she was. A few months later I rented the movie and watched it over and over again. I began to learn the lyrics to her songs in Spanish. I dont speak Spanish fluently so this was a big thing for me. I started singing one of her songs and my brother in law told me that I didnt know what I was saying and that I didny know spanish and blah blah blah. He was right, I didnt know Spanish but from that moment on I was determined to learn. I spent the next three years learning every word to every song. Within that time, I really learned about my culture. Selena was hispanic, I'm hispanic. I realized how important it is to know who you are and where you come from. I also learned that its important to appreciate the fact that you are different and to appreciate the fact that even though you may not look like the all american with the blonde hair and round blue eyes, you have a different kind of beauty. I also learned that you cant deny who are because you cant change or run away from what you are.

Chica...... that was really beautiful. It's funny in a way. I knew who Selena was in Kindergarten... before she died. I wanted to be just like her, even know I couldn't speak Spanish for cocka. I mean seriously, all I could say was "hola". About 5 years after she died (2 years ago) I began to really understand Spanish, so I said "Oh what the hell" and I began buying her CD's. Well my parents started getting mad at me "You don't know Spanish! You don't know what that song means! Don't waste your money on stuff you can't understand" but nope....I wouldn't listen. These days I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I can sure as hell understand Selena's songs. I'm glad I didn't listen to my parents now.
