So what are your opinions of boy bands? Name the good things and the bad things.

yes!!! I HATE BOY BANDS!!! theyre fake, they dont play instaments, they worry waaaaayyyyyyyy too much about how they look....i could continue but i wont....hmmm good things....i dont believe there are any....

I used to like one boy band, but not anymore.

That's Nsync. Backstreet Boys are way more humble. They are not fake. I don't know how you define 'fake,' but donating to organizations they care about, writing songs for their fans, and caring about people is certainly not fake in my mind. They all play instruments... I've been to 6 concerts and they did at all of them. Just because they don't all the time doesn't mean they CAN'T. In regards to "talking about how they look"... show me ONE instance that a Backstreet Boy ever talked about how he looked. Prove it to me.

Rockapella is a so-called 'boyband'... but they don't NEED instruments, as they are an a capella group. Not all 'boybands' fit your steotype.

And also in regards to some of you saying that the pop boybands 'suck'... that's an opinion. And last time I checked, everyone was entitled to an opinion. I think that the punk and rock 'boybands' suck but I don't go around the internet posting it everywhere as if it was a fact.

Like Lance is the Pretty Boy, and Justin is the Hott Guy, and that dude with the ugly hair is the punky guy... Didn;'t you notice all boy bands have that same thing. And that band you speak of, Rockapella, shouldn't have "rock" in their names unless they play it and oh ya, those boy bands are really selling alot of records, NSUCK is breaking up for a year, Backstreet Boys have that stupid "my mommie is my stylist and dresses my like an ass-hole" Nick carter going to do his own solo album and try to play rock music. he wants everyone including rock fans to like him but his being a true assed POSER (i rarely label people but thats what he is) makes me and alot of others hate him even more. And whats the deal with whats'his'ass goin in space? Oh ya "Hey... Dude, Im from NSYNC. I got alot of money and Im gonna go in space!" what did he do to deserve that... Oh ya! He took dance classes and voice lessons and guitar lessons... gee! sounds just like me!!! They're not going to exist in 3 years anyway, so why bother even careing about them. They're no more real than the spice girls were!!! You can see that they were given their personalities by record execs! they make NONE of their own choices and when they say they "CO-wrote" songs it means they sat there in said "Instead of going AHH AHH OOOH! can we go "AHH OHHH AHH!?" Max Martin wrote all of their songs, he deserves the credit, so does their stylists who picks out EVERYTHING they wear and their choreographers! Without them they'd be nothing. Ozzy and other metal stars like him kick ass because they don't need choreographers and girls dressed like freakish whores behind them sticking their cu'nt's in the camera just to get a little recognition. besides they sing soprano! How sickening! They sound like little girls! "OOOOOOOH BABY! ! I LOOOOOOOVE YOU!!! YOU LOOOOVE ME!!! I LOOOVE ME EVEN MORRRRE!" stuck up concieted bastards. 98* Especially annoys me. I cant stand em! They're so unintellegent.

Well I like oldie type rock and pop boy bands only from the 1970's they actually new real rock n roll. Now they are just preppy poppy *******s especially Nstink (nsync), backrub boys (backstreet boys, and o town, gosh I wish I could beat all of em up and knock some "normal" in there heads. This is embarrarssing being a guy. But I like boy bands. Not all, mainly the Backstreet Boys. I don't think hating a song just because of who sings it is right.

Some of you have stated that they don't play their own instruments. Well most rappers if any don't play their own instruments. What's the difference?

I used to like N' Sync and BSB, but I don't really like either one now. I think it was all the hype. You couldn't turn around without seeing the 2 groups everywhere.

Actually, if you'd stop to think, you see that they have "Rock" in their name because they add an edge to 'a capella,' with Jeff the human percussionist and such... and they do cover rock and roll songs, and well as some so-called "rock." People have different definitions of that, too.

Ummm...two years ago I had this like, obsession with NSYNC when they hit it big. Went to 2 of their concerts. Never a big fan of BSB. I got over the whole *boyband* craze, although Ill admit I do like their songs. The only one I still listen to is Britney Spears-even though all I ever do is complain about her lol. Saw her in concert a month ago, yea, lipsynced oh well. Overall though, I got over that whole boyband fiasco...boybands are for teenyboppers- Im 18, and have more important things to do than to be in love with Justin Timberlake (besides I was more of a JC girl back then anyways ;)). Then they started growing out their hair and the songs got stupid! Im over it. Im still waiting for Chris to check himself into rehab...evidently you take turns with bands.

They suck: 1 or 2 members actually sing, while the others use a backtrack.

And most rappers don't play intruments, but they come up with their own beats. Boybands dont even produce their songs.

Actually, they do. No one bothers to pay attention though because they dont believe them. But you look inside the CD slip case, and about 95% of their songs are by them.

They write them, most of them don't produce them themselves: Nsync uses BT, and the neptunes for almost all of their commercial releases.

I saw a little piece on one of those news shows about singers lip synching. I think it was Inside Edition. They talked about what Jessica Simpson thinks of lip synching. JS thinks its okay to lip sync in a concert. The fans don't mind. They don't care.

I may be slow here, but if I was going to pay some serious $$$$$$ to see a concert I would at least like the singers to actually be singing. Hell, I could sit at home and listen to a cd or watch a music video on tv for free. I think its just kind of crazy to pay that much money to see a concert and all the singer is doing is just mouthing the words. jmo........

I don't have anything good to say about boy bands. I get annoyed because I don't know anyone that has similar taste in music that I do. Unlike most people, I don't let the radio or MTV determine what music I buy or listen to. There are tons of talented artists out today that hardly anyone has heard of. Most of the time artists only sell a lot of records because they're promoted heavily. Not because they're talented. Sorry, I guess I got a little off topic.

Jessica simpson has no need to lip synch since she can't dance. Others like Britney Spears, Nsync...sing, they just don't have their mics up high.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnywho... whoever defended the boybands about how they do write their own music, it's true. I know BSB does because that's why they take longer to get and album out than NSYNC. NSYNC has 20 people working on it for them. BSB has them and maybe 3 others helping.
