and in all my 84 yrs on this earth I've not heard of food shortages and scarcity, but hearing it more and more these days. Mike Adams believes that we are going to be OK and that a God is involved in all this. Here is a link from Adams worth reading.

I recall in the late 50's and early 60's, parents would always admonish their children that "there are people starving in China" whenever they failed to clean their plates at dinner time. Maybe that explains why there is so much obesity in American today? We were guilt-shamed into becoming hoarders?
I also recall being on a message board in the late 90's and this guy claiming to be from Hong Kong was guilt peddling all of us about the "looming famine" in China. LOL within 5 years China emerged as an economic powerhouse threatening the solvency of the west...

GJ: Oh yes that push to eat everything on your full plate as children are starving in China...ummm
I can pretty much understand the parent's "job" to get their little ones to eat but today's goings on is another issue.

Well, which is it? In your first post you say in all your 84 years you've not heard of food shortage....so I mention the well traveled mid 20th century stereotype of starving children in China......and now you claim to have been aware of it...but it's not the same thing?
On a different angle, I believe that business in general is overly dominated by merged conglomerates, created thru successive rounds of anti-competitive mergers that are excused under a rationale that "efficiencies" result that better reward stockholders.
When the actual mechanism at work is that it constrains the marketplace, removing incentives to be competitive.
But. I really don't think it's necessarily a "conspiracy" driving these happenings. It's just capitalism mixed with old fashioned greed.
