Anyone pay close attention to such things? Were they relatively always the same ones, or was there constant change? Talking about the ones who never had lines.

I would glance at them from time to time but not enough to know if they were the same

It was the same way on What's Happening, with extras in the soda shop

Yeah, same concept, except in a place like a soda shop it wouldn’t be unusual for different people to be in there every time you went, whereas a classroom would have the same people for a semester.

It seemed they were fairly consistent. There was a cute brunette that appeared in many episodes.

It was hard to focus on them because I was so glued to the sweathoggs

In retrospect, it's funny that out of that whole class, only four kids would talk.

The background extras were mainly there to react and to appear like students.

There was one really cute brunette with pretty eyes and there was this skinny brown-haired girl who actually got a line of dialogue in the season 3 episode where Arnold becomes a radio shock jock on the Buchanan radio station. She tells Arnold, "I'm mad as hell, Arnold, and I'm not gonna take it anymore." The only line she ever had. Don't know the actress's name.

I remember that episode where Horshack became "The Mad Broadcaster of Buchanan High." He was very funny and his best delivered line was "Why can't Johnny read?"

Those screencaps are great. Thanks for sharing them.

I'm sure others have pointed this out, but all of them look to be mid 20s. Maybe the whole premise of the show should have been about trying to graduate adults from night school. :D
