View Full Version : A confession
Mossopp 08-10-2002, 07:38 AM I wanna use this forum to publicly announce that I'm gonna quit drinking. I know it's probably of no interest to the majority of you but the reason I'm telling you is cos I'm less likely to give in to temptation if people actually know that I'm trying to stop. If I just promised to myself that I'd stop I'd be drunk again within a week!
I got really smashed last night and I woke up this morning still drunk with cuts on my arm, the house in a mess and my head spinning. I do this every weekend and I'm getting sick of it. The scary part is I don't even go out to pubs - I just sit in my room by myself and drink. My parents don't even know cos I avoid them and I hide the empty cans and bottles under the sofa in my room.
I'm actually pretty ashamed to admit that.
I'm not some kinda crazy alcoholic or anything like that. To be honest I don't even know why I drink in the first place. I'm just worried that, sometime down the line, it may actually become a problem for me and I wanna knock it on the head now.
So anyway, that's confession time over for me. Thanks for reading guys, I appreciate it.

YAY!! Granted, I don't really know you, but...still, YAY! LOL...a lot can happen because of drinking...it's great that you're going to quit!:)
Nobody likes a quitter.
;)
Seriously, there's nothing wrong with drinking, but if you are drinking/getting drunk alone, that might be a problem.
Take some time off.
Before last night I didn't go out drinking for three weeks. It's good for you to "detoxify" once in a while.
Montana Ponine 08-10-2002, 09:29 AM Good for you, Mossopp. That's a good decision you've made...

Jordan 08-10-2002, 09:38 AM You can do it! Good Luck and I hope it works out! If it does, you'll make me proud, even though I haven't the slightest idea who you truly are!
DarleneIllyria 08-10-2002, 10:57 AM Good choice Mossopp. I know you probably don't drink every single day, but drinking is just like smoking and it takes a lot time to not get the urges to take a drink. I know you can do it. Good luck!

Ditto! I really hope that you can do it!
Mijada 08-10-2002, 12:28 PM That's great that u want to quit drinking. That is one habit that I'm glad I never picked up. When I was little I watched my whole family drink and never saw anything positive come from it.
Kay Scarpetta 08-10-2002, 12:51 PM Good for you, Lorna! (sorry...I just love your name :D) I know you can do it. Good luck and best wishes!

Czas na Zywiec 08-10-2002, 01:33 PM Good Luck L.J. I wish the best for you. :)
I also have a confession. The last couple of months I've had this deasea that kept on getting worse and worse and I can't control it. Ask anyone I talk to. Jeff, Amy, Jenny. It's sick, it's embarassing, and from now on, I will NEVER TYPO AGAIN! If I do, I will send you $50 for every typo I make. Just give me your adress and I shall send you money and/or plane tickets to Colorado.

Um that didn't count, since it was a confession. I meant on AIM. Heh heh.
