Wow, what a great find!

Hugh Beaumont passed away only two years later (1982), and Richard Deacon only 4 years later (1984). Hugh was divorced in 1974 after more than 30 years of marriage, he obviously had major health issues the last two decades of his life must have been very tough for him. This clip is probably his last public appearance. Again great find.

I liked the honest, though complementary Tony Dow describing his friend Hugh Beaumont "He was difficult at times. He stood up for what he believed in".

One curious thing I noticed was everybody spoke/sounded as I remember them from the show except Ken Osmond ( 'Eddie' ) who seemed to enunciate in a slight but noticeably different way than his on screen character. Sounded a little English speaking French-Canadian to my ears.

Of course we've heard Jerry and Tony's commentary from other sources, but it's rare (VERY rare, in fact) to hear from Richard Deacon and Hugh Beaumont.

The show said Hugh Beaumont had his stroke in 1964 shortly after Beaver's run was over. But I've seen Hugh in Petticoat Junction one of the color shows and this was after 1964 and he seemed perfectly normal in PJ. He also seemed quite normal in a Mannix episode from an even later date than Pet. Junction about 1969 or 1970 for Mannix. I knew Beaumont had had a stroke but I thought it happened in the '70's. They either got the date wrong in the show or perhaps he had a slight stroke in '64 and recovered easily and then years later had a more massive one.

They might have meant to say 1974. They also got the total number of episodes wrong at 270 (there were 234--at first I thought they were counting the later show but in 1980 it hadn't happened yet), but it was so interesting that outweighed the mistake.

The interview/discussion was great, but I could have done without the little black-and-white reenactments/parodies, which were silly.

That was a terrific interview with the cast of the beloved LITB. Thank you for posting it!

I enjoyed the updated skits with the LITB cast. And, what about Ken Osmond with that mustache? It would have been fun if Tony Dow had razzed Ken about his mustache, the same way that Eddie and Lumpy had razzed Wally after Wally had secretly grown a mustache to impress the decidedly ditsy Julie Foster in a classic episode of LITB.

It was also very funny when Tony Dow and Jerry Mathers kidded Ken Osmond about his uncanny resemblance to the late, adult film star, John Holmes.

That was great that the host also interviewed Hugh Beaumont; Mr. Beaumont looked very good and still had a full head of hair. Although, like Tony Dow, Frank Bank and Ken Osmond, Mr. Beaumont died at far too young an age.
