I had long wondered whether the poem used in "Beaver's Tree" is a real poem. It is, and it was written by Henry Cuyler Bunner (1855-1896). Here is the complete text.

Beaver recited a line

"God's blessing on the neighborhood."

I'm now trying to find that. I wonder if someone added a verse.

I plant SO MANY trees & bushes on my land
