The allegations (most likely true) against Fred Savage likely contributed to the series cancellation, but we ahve to keep in mind that ratings suffered from an ABC decision to sanitise the show, once Kevin hit puberty, and the series never went with episodes that would have touched on what real teenagers faced. This probably had a very negative effect on the series.

The accuser it turns out wasn't the incompetent, lazy, and disgruntled ex-employee that the network portrayed her as. It turns out once she left the series, she went on to do work on bigger and better assignments, and established an excellent reputation in Hollywood.

Savage, of course, has now been accused of numerous women of harassment. I can't believe he got away with it. I feel bad he was not exposed as a predator 30 years ago. ABC should be ashamed of themselves.
