I never thought too much about this episode until I was reading some of the comments elsewhere online (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406114451/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-7#entry13217686). It's this episode from Season 5 called "Boozin' Buddies" (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/boozin-buddies/id1528039547?i=1000535509797), where Sam gets drunk while at a frat party.

And then when Sam catches Tony drinking beer with his friends in the living room while watching a boxing match on TV, Sam appears to passive aggressively accuse her father of being a hypocritic.

Having rewatched this episode again on GAC Family, the question that I have to ask is how exactly is Tony in the wrong? To me, it's apples and oranges to compare a girl like Samantha Micelli, who still isn't of legal drinking age, getting plastered to a presumably responsible adult like Tony socially and causally drinking at home.

I suppose that the writers (http://reviewingeverytvshowiown.blogspot.com/2017/03/whos-boss-boozin-buddies.html) were trying to say (https://soundcloud.com/bestmenpodcast/whos-the-boss-edited-v1) that there is no easy solution when it comes to drinking alcohol at social gatherings and that adults like Tony can be subjugated to peer pressure too. But still, why should Tony in any way feel guilty? If he was drinking to the point excess and to the point in which he couldn't at all function (like stand up straight or operate a vehicle) without putting himself and others at risk, then I could see we're they were going at.

I suppose that Sam's whole attitude about the matter kind of pisses me off. She still drank beer even though it was still illegal for someone her age to do so. And she didn't have any common sense to say no when she was offered alcohol.

It's like in her world, she wants to tell her father that how could she do anything wrong if Tony is practically doing the same type of thing (drinking beer while in the presence of his friends).
