View Full Version : The Jr High and the Sr High Don't Make Sense!!!!!!
shockrocker6 08-09-2002, 05:32 PM When Zach, Screech and Lisa were in Jr High with Miss Bliss, Nikki, and that other boy, they ived in Indiana then when Zach Screech Lisa and Mr Belding were in High School they lived in california? What the hell, someone help me~~~~~~~
SBTB Geek 08-10-2002, 01:20 AM There is no official reason.
The producers just wanted to move the location.
cabal24 10-03-2002, 04:02 PM Here is what happened:
1) Admit that Zack is really God. A lot of things will begin to makes sense right there.
2) The reason they all moved was because Mr. Morris and the Turtles and the Powers were all friends and they all decided to move to LA and live in the same area. Apparently Mr. Morris didn't like Mikey or Nikki much. And remember, Zack is God.
3) Why did Mr. Belding move? It is obvious. He grew up in LA and was offered the Principal at Bayside. He took it and moved back. And remember, Zack is God.
Hey Cabel 24, you fogot that Mr. Morris also got back together with his wife, and changed his first name from Peter to Derrick.
But one thing that can not be explained is the fact the show gave the indication that the original gang from Jr. High knew Jessie and Kelly for a long time.
cabal24 10-04-2002, 09:22 AM OK I can explain all of those things too.
1) Mr. Morris was married to Mrs. Morris and had Zack in LA. Then, he and Mrs. Morris got divorced when Zack was in the second grade and he and his father moved to Indianapolis, where he dated Carrie Bliss. When Zack was in the first grade he went to school with Jessie and Kelly (in LA). Then, Mr. Morris decided to remarry his first wife and move back to LA and take Zack with him. Mr. Turtle and Mr. Powers realized that Derrick Morris was just that cool of a guy and followed him first to Indy and then back to LA. Hey, his son was God.
2) Mr. Morris changed his name from Peter to Derrick because his whole name is Derrick Peter Morris. When he got divorced from Mrs. Morris, he decided to go by his middle name to start a new life in Indy. When he came home to LA he decided that was stupid and went by Derrick again. The reason he looked different was because he had plastic surgery done (quite common in Southern California).
So it all adds up. Zack knew the girls in LA before he moved and when he went back it was just as if he never left. Quite obvious really.

uhhh, cabel already explained:eek:
Zack Tripper 12-31-2003, 12:30 PM They should have stayed in Indiana. It seems like every other show takes place in New York or LA. If they wanted to work at a beach, send them to Gary. It's right on Lake Michigan. That would be...uh...interesting!
ljonesxoxo 12-31-2003, 07:20 PM its thought provoking.
DO NOT CONSIDER THE JUNIOR HIGH YEARS AS PART OF "SAVED BY THE BELL" EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE SAME PEOPLE!
"Good Morning Miss Bliss" was an one show and "Saved By the Bell" was another show in itself.
All it is is just two different shows which happen to have the same characters. Look at "Maude" and "Good Times", its spinoff. Even though Florida was in both shows, one show has a totally different story than another.
To me, well, "Saved by the Bell" was a revamped version of "Good Morning Miss Bliss". My philosophy with that is FORGET EVERYTHING YOU LEARNED FROM "GMMD" and concentrate on the new day and a new show at hand "STTB". No more staring down the shadows of the past.
Maxamillion 01-14-2004, 06:24 PM We really shouldnt ponder these questions. I accept the series for what it was and I dont question the trivial things. The show was just wonderful and the best thing they ever did was to get rid of that god awful Ms. Bliss. I will never forgive her for what she did!
Chuck's fan 08-24-2005, 12:12 PM It is a remake and not a spinoff but you could take it this way JFK Jr. High was doing an exchange program with Bayside Jr.High and the selected Zack,Lisa and Screech and perhaps after the program they transfered Mr Belding to Bayside High ,,,it explains why both schools look alike the rest i go with Cabal24 but i can't explain Screech's little brother or Zack's sister
PrettyinPink55 08-24-2005, 01:34 PM The E! True Hollywood Story fully explores this. Good Morning Miss Bliss (Jr. High Years) were on the Disney Channel. But then it got canned, and was picked up by NBC, and to spice things up, they changed the location to Cali. I believe that's how it went, but Cabal24's explanation probably holds more truth to it. ;)
SBTB: Are the "Miss Bliss" episodes non-canon or canon? (http://officialfan.proboards.com/thread/484014/sbtb-bliss-episodes-non-canon)
MacLeaper 11-01-2013, 01:22 PM It's rather hard to say what really is canon or not in "Saved By the Bell". It may be a stretch, but yes- you could call "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" canon. Or you could look at in reality terms and just realize that the show moved from Disney to NBC and NBC revamped it for its run on that channel. So it's sort of its own thing, with a much different focus and style, though it does utilize some of the same characters.
In any case, I don't care- I like all of it. I don't worry too much about the continuity- you can try to make it fit, but it generally just isn't going to fit very well. That's okay. I just think of it as a fun TV series that I enjoy and don't worry so much about the continuities.
In any case, I'd love to see "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" get released to DVD someday, but I suppose that would be up to Disney.
schmave 11-04-2013, 05:33 PM I've never considered the Miss Bliss episodes canon. The Tori episodes are much easier to fit into canon. The show never rewrote history to make it appear Jessie and Kelly didn't exist. It's easy just to reason that they're offscreen doing whatever.
irehtman 11-05-2013, 09:56 AM Slater didn't appear in Good Morning Miss Bliss episodes at all either.
MacLeaper 11-05-2013, 11:09 AM To me, it seems like if anything should count, it would be the original foundation of the show- which is "Good Morning, Miss Bliss." Really, the "Saved By the Bell" series is an aberration from that. But if people don't want to count GMMB as canon within SBTB, that's fine. Like I said- it's a very loose canon (pardon the pun) with "Saved By the Bell" to begin with.
And for the record, Slater was introduced as a transfer student on SBTB anyway, so it doesn't make any difference that he didn't appear on GMMB.
ThomasE 11-11-2013, 11:17 PM It was stated by someone that Nikki would be coming over to SBTB. Then the mother wanted more money when she found out Mark-Paul G would be making more money. The deal fell through and then a new character "Kelly" was in the works. Two actresses were in the running and they were so great that it was decided to them both and create another new characters to keep them both. Mylo was to have the local hangout called "Mylo's". This info is speculation for now IMO since I cannot access the source right now.

I've heard about the Jessie character being created because they liked Elizabeth so much. I've never heard the other rumors though.
Mace Dolex 01-03-2014, 08:38 PM It was a dumb tween show, let's move on people. :D
ThomasE 01-04-2014, 01:07 AM It was not a dumb, tween show. You've broken my heart with your comment. Darn! LOLOLOLOL.

Suspension of disbelief, right? It's a skill
mets82 02-26-2014, 04:04 PM Can someone tell me what canon and non-canon is?
RetroGuy2000 02-27-2014, 03:35 AM So, the "it was a dumb show meant for tweens" explanation works okay, but if you want an in-universe explanation, this is a good one:
Mr. Belding, Zach, Screech and Lisa all witnessed the murder of Miss Bliss in Indiana by the mob, and they were all placed in the Witness Protection Program together. A clerical error meant they all kept the same names. Max was actually an agent, which explains his disappearance in the show's run as he was reassigned.
How does this tie in to the Kelly/Jessie/Tori disappearances/reappearances? No idea. But it does resolve the discontinuity between what occurred in Indiana and California.
ThomasE 03-05-2014, 01:03 AM Mikey and Nikki should have went to California also.
From what I read, she almost did. I think that it was another poster that stated that information.

I do as I was around when this topic was started back in the day. LOL.
RetroGuy2000 03-05-2014, 11:57 PM Where are heather hopper and max battimo right now?
Heather has a one-woman show in Hollywood. Link here. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ4ajnS9riA) Max became a hockey player, and is now a college hockey referee.
schmave 03-06-2014, 12:47 AM Nice link ... she is funny. I liked Heather Hopper back in the Miss Bliss days. Always liked her much more than Jessie, who pretty much filled the Nikki role once the show became SBTB.

Yeah, Heather is really funny.
I also agree that Jessie basically replaced Nikki: they were the brainy ones, and both were "Zach's best friend since the first grade."
