I finally got to eat at a Cheesecake Factory for the first time yesterday. It is a lot fancier and higher quality than The Big Bang Theory portrays it. They go to great lengths to get scientific details right, but slam the Cheesecake Factory making it look like a diner with mediocre food and service.

The Cheesecake Factory would take issue with your assessment, this is from an article that appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 2012:
"A spokeswoman for the restaurant chain said, "The Cheesecake Factory does not have any sort of arrangements with the show. The Cheesecake Factory is really pleased to be featured in such a funny and wildly popular show."
I can assure you if the food had been subject to any negative evaluation based on quality the company would have had major issues. They couldn't build a set that accurately depicted the restaurant it would have been prohibitively expensive and wouldn't serve any real purpose. What the show did for the Cheesecake Factory is show the restaurant as a place friends would come together, talk and have a good time, that kind of publicity is worth millions.

They were not slamming it and making it look like a diner. The mediocre food and service is merely a figment of your imagination.
