View Full Version : Has Ben Savage had a falling out with the rest of the cast
According to what I recently read on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/vwz4qr/i_never_thought_id_see_the_day_where_ben_doesnt/), Ben doesn’t follow (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/w0z83y/comment/igrkax7/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong on social media, nor do they follow him. Apparently (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/vwz4qr/comment/iftrqf4/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), Ben unfollowed Rider first around 2021 and Rider unfollowed (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/w0z83y/comment/ih1eg33/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) him not so long ago after that. Danielle only unfollowed him around 2-3 months back, and vice versa.
Ben Savage Mysteriously Disappeared From The Lives Of His Boy Meets World Costars (https://www.thelist.com/1547897/ben-savage-mysteriously-disappeared-lives-boy-meets-world-costars/)
After knowing his former "Boy Meets World" castmates for years, actor turned aspiring politician Ben Savage seemingly distanced himself from them.
JO Sweet Heart 04-01-2024, 06:02 PM If I read the write up correctly, it sounds like Ben doesn't agree with where the others stand on certain things. I get that everyone will have an opinion on all subjects, but for those opinions to put a stop to long enough friendships, to me, is just sad. :( :( :(
God bless you and the cast members always!!!

I always suspected the Trina McGee accusations were a big part of the catalyst of him distancing himself from the others. My theory is that he felt he didn't do anything wrong (whether he did or not, we'll never know since none of us were on the set of the show), and didn't feel he needed to apologize to her as the others did. That might've led to some internal drama we aren't privy to. I get that they claim nothing happened that led up to him ghosting them, but...eh. Usually there's some sort of event that occurs that damages relationships. They either want to protect him and/or themselves, and that's why they haven't shared more. Either way, he felt it was best to distance himself from them, and that's that.
'Boy Meets World' stars open up about rift with Ben Savage (https://ew.com/danielle-fishel-will-friedle-discuss-rift-with-boy-meets-world-costar-ben-savage-11990415?hid=088261d9e13e8c21aa524fbd42978aded155f425&did=23966919-20260604&utm_campaign=ewk-nonewsubs_relationship-builder&utm_source=ewk&utm_medium=email&utm)
Former co-stars say (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/1tvvl9j/boy_meets_world_stars_will_friedle_and_danielle/) their sitcom family is fractured (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/1twfhm2/the_real_reason_ben_savage_ghosted_the_pod_meets/), for now (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/1tnrbra/long_read_ben_savage_still_being_distant_even/).

The stars of 'Boy Meets World' — Rider Strong, Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle — sit down with ET's Emily Curl to look back on the iconic series, after debuting their tell-all documentary, 'Doc Meets World,' at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The trio shares behind-the-scenes memories and what it was like growing up in the spotlight, getting a kick out of watching back old clips from ET's many visits to the sitcom set. The group also reflects on their more recent estrangement from series lead Ben Savage, calling the state of their relationship with him 'sad' after, they claim, he ghosted them. Fans can hear more from Rider, Danielle and Will on their podcast, 'Pod Meets World.'
Ben Savage Shares Cryptic Message Amid Years-Long Estrangement From ‘Boy Meets World’ Cast (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/celebrity/articles/ben-savage-shares-cryptic-message-142800135.html)
Boy Meets World (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/) star Ben Savage appears to be doing just fine despite being estranged from a majority of the cast members on the show that made him famous.
Savage, 45, posted a cryptic caption (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/ben-savage-shares-cryptic-message-amid-years-long-estrangement-from-%E2%80%98boy-meets-world%E2%80%99-cast.6145484/) on Instagram on Tuesday, June 16, revealing he's in good spirits and happy being a father.
"Good company," the former child actor captioned two Instagram photos of himself holding his 7-month-old daughter with wife Tessa Angermeier. The couple have not released her name.
Savage's post comes just days after his former costar Will Friedle, who played Savage's older brother Eric Matthews on the ABC sitcom, said in an interview that he hoped to be able to speak to Savage one day "to his face" about his decision to distance himself from his castmates.
Friedle isn't the only Boy Meets World castmate estranged from Savage. Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga Lawrence (Savage's on-screen love interest on the series) also said it would be "good" to speak with him in person, according to Us Weekly (https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/ben-savage-posts-about-company-amid-boy-meets-world-drama/).
The estrangement is the basis of a documentary titled Doc Meets World, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6. It discusses the separation between Savage and his former castmates, including Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter, the best friend of Savage's character.
Strong, now 46, commented on the cast divide in the documentary, per Us Weekly. Strong, Friedle, 49, and Fishel, 45, all cohost a podcast titled Pod Meets World.
"Ben refused to do the [Pod Meets World] podcast, but we still communicated with him, [were] still on friendly terms, we thought," Strong, 46, claimed in the documentary, according to the outlet. "He unfollowed us on Instagram and blocked our phone numbers. I feel sorry that he's missing out on the experience that Danielle and Will and I are having."
The documentary also shows Friedle's several texts to Savage over the years, which have gone unanswered.
Savage's Instagram shows the former actor embracing fatherhood, often posting photos of his daughter and wife.
I always suspected the Trina McGee (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/search/?q=Trina+McGee+Ben+Savage&cId=5dc8633a-0547-4f8b-a350-98d08754db7b&iId=e7d99756-0add-40f3-a1fc-8c366844ce96) accusations were a big part of the catalyst of him distancing himself from the others. That's what others believe (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/ben-savage-shares-cryptic-message-amid-years-long-estrangement-from-%E2%80%98boy-meets-world%E2%80%99-cast.6145484/post-115942740) and think.
