Unfortunately for viewers put off by Pastor Rob, "Young Sheldon" co-creator Steve Molaro described Pastor Rob's budding affair with Shedlon's mother Mary to TVLine (https://tvline.com/2022/04/08/young-sheldon-george-mary-affair-brenda-sparks-pastor-rob-season-5-explained/) as an important plot point that the series will develop as it progresses. "It's a bit of a soap opera that we enjoy telling," he said, "and it will continue as we move forward."
Every fan describing Pastor Rob as a creep, then, may well find plenty more ammo for their opinion in upcoming "Young Sheldon" episodes.
