I've been reading other online boards, and it appears that many don't care much (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406114451/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-7#entry13214339) about the backdoor pilots like the one (http://reviewingeverytvshowiown.blogspot.com/2017/01/whos-boss-mona.html) where Mona helps her brother run a hotel or the "Charmed Lives" (http://www.poobala.com/charmedandwhos.html) episode (http://reviewingeverytvshowiown.blogspot.com/2017/01/whos-boss-charmed-lives.html) with Fran Drescher (https://web.archive.org/web/20140407134732/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-8#entry13235854) and Donna Dixon (https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/112906-whos-the-boss/?do=findComment&comment=6534886).

Others pointed to (https://web.archive.org/web/20140406114451/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2874131-whos-the-boss/page-7#entry13217686) the "Boozin' Buddies" (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/boozin-buddies/id1528039547?i=1000535509797) episode (https://soundcloud.com/bestmenpodcast/whos-the-boss-edited-v1), where Sam gets drunk at a frat party. This mostly has to do with Sam's attitude in that entire episode. She somehow, attempts to guilt Tony, an adult, into thinking that he can't have a beer or two with his adult friends while they watch a fight.

I also don't care much for some of the latter episodes like the one where Angela and Mona meet a man at a health spa who looks exactly like Tony except with a moustache, the parody of Stephen King's Misery, the one where Tony is suddenly written as being deathly afraid of water (even though it was contradictory of his character), the one where Tony gets a lip allergy from licking too many envelops, or the one from the last season that riffs on Mr. Blanding's Builds His Dream House. Those types of episodes really pushed the series into cartoon territory.

I haven't seen the Fran Drescher episode but that sounds interesting. One of the worst is the series finale.

LANGUAGE WARNING

LIdotcxYWpw

Way before THE NANNY ever came into fruition, Fran Drescher casually slipped into the WHO'S THE BOSS-VERSE as Joyce Columbus, a young gal w/ dreams of becoming the next big thing. The only problem... DONNA DIXON was standing in her way.

Yes, Patrick and Kat have gone back to WHO'S THE BOSS, but it's not your average episode of WHO'S THE BOSS. No, it's a BACKDOOR PILOT for a little show that never came to be...
