Folks haven't held back with their critiques of Cobra Kai
In a thread on r/DoesAnybodyElse, Reddit user u/antlerking81 (https://www.reddit.com/r/DoesAnybodyElse/comments/rxy7vb/dae_think_cobra_kai_isnt_that_good/) wondered if they are the only one that doesn't care much for "Cobra Kai." As it turns out, they're far from alone in their stance. "I couldn't handle it. It was so bad!!! Watched like 15 minutes and was like, nah, I'm good," wrote u/Dizzy-Lizzy-4567 (https://www.reddit.com/r/DoesAnybodyElse/comments/rxy7vb/dae_think_cobra_kai_isnt_that_good/hrphs52/), while numerous others expressed their hatred for its cliché, campy nature. Redditor u/namenumberdate (https://www.reddit.com/r/DoesAnybodyElse/comments/rxy7vb/dae_think_cobra_kai_isnt_that_good/hrnanqi/) commented,*"I couldn't watch it for more than an episode. The acting and the scripts are so terrible and cheesy. Too much pandering, too," while*u/Venti_icedwhitemocha (https://www.reddit.com/r/DoesAnybodyElse/comments/rxy7vb/dae_think_cobra_kai_isnt_that_good/hrp0i6u/) simply called it "stupid."
As evidenced by these comments and numerous others in the thread, "Cobra Kai" isn't everyone's cup of tea for one reason or another. Still, those against the show must not outnumber those who do, hence why it's still going strong and likely will for some time. According to one of the program's driving creative forces, Jon Hurwitz, "Cobra Kai" and the Miyagi-Verse are far from over beyond Season 5.*"All I can say is that we expect more Cobra Kai to come and that the Miyagiverse is far from finished," he revealed in a July 16, 2022 (https://twitter.com/jonhurwitz/status/1548443213932875780), Twitter post when asked about what the future has in store.
At the end of the day, "Cobra Kai" hasn't pulled in all who've given it a chance, and that's ok. People have different tastes in their media, and for some, "Cobra Kai" just doesn't have the right stuff to keep them coming back for more.
