I use to watch the show a long time ago but because I was younger, I didn't realize that season 8 took a year to appear on the tube(i looked up the episode guide). Can someone tell me exactly what happened??
Thanks

Well, I can't really say for sure, but I'm guessing that maybe they began filming for an eighth season, and fairly early on, they got the word that they were not going to be brought back for the '92-'93 season; they went ahead and filmed a final episode, and ABC was actually decent enough to air it, along with the other extra episodes, but they waited till the summer, when nothing else was on. For what it's worth, the first time around, I had no idea about the 8th season either. I thought the show ended with Balki and Mary Anne getting married.

Thanks for the reply. This sounds like what happened.

That's too bad 'cause I really want to see them.

It is a fact that the last episodes were filmed in 1992 although they were aired in 1993. If you check out the episode guide at tvtome.com, there were different code numbers. I think that they started to make another season, but they got word that ABC was going to cancel the show. With that information, they went ahead and made a memorable finale that tributed the series' run.
