View Full Version : Electronic Voice Phenomena
Dude111 07-26-2022, 07:21 AM This EVP is recording sounds and voices from supposedly other dimensions or realities.
Usually done wih tape recorders. As can be seen with these TV ghost programs,it is generally done through question-and-answer sessions.
What we need is proper full sentences so that we can document and know more of what awaits us.
Definitely something is placing words on the tape between questions and definitely something is often giving intelligent answers.
Often we cannot validate the answers but occasionally we can,so where do they come from? Are they something generated by our human mind or are they actual discarnate beings interacting with the living?
Its fascinating what a tape recorder picks up when we cant hear it with our own ears.. (Most cant)
GentlemanJim 07-26-2022, 09:59 AM So, have you ever heard these these other-worldly voices conspire against you?
Dude111 07-26-2022, 06:40 PM No I myself havent ever.... Sometimes I setup a tape recorder to record the room when Im not there but I dont hear anything......

Wasn't there a movie where ghosts or space aliens appeared on the family TV when it was between channels?
GentlemanJim 07-26-2022, 08:33 PM Seriously, remember that Gilligan's Island episode where fillings in his teeth started receiving radio signals? Our world is pretty saturated with radio signals. Wonder if the coil in your microphone might be picking up somebody's cell?
I use an old school pair of radio shack wireless headphones to listen to TV late at night, and there is this one spot in my kitchen that if I stand there wearing the phones, I can eavesdrop on somebody's phone calls.
It's raspy enough to sound other worldly, but I can tell by the back woodsey nature of the topics discussed that it's some local.
Dude111 07-27-2022, 03:58 PM Wouldnt an analogue microphone only pick up analogue signals though?
GentlemanJim 07-27-2022, 05:06 PM Wouldnt an analogue microphone only pick up analogue signals though?
Not in any environment that was universally inclusive.:mooner:
I'm pretty sure the phonecalls that I am intercepting with my wireless headphones are coming from a "cordless" residential phone owned by one of my neighbors. (You know the ones that have separate handsets and cradles.) What is interesting about that is that my wireless headphones communicate with their base via infrared LEDs,... yet seem to be receiving RF from a neighbors cordless phone.
The key (I suspect) is that we are talking about interference of some sort, a coil, or some other component of my set up....has picked up a stray signal unintentionally. SO I DON'T BELIEVE THAT ESTABLISHED STANDARDS APPLY HERE.
It's "distortion" that just happens to be intelligible. If that makes any sense.
GentlemanJim 07-27-2022, 06:02 PM Wasn't there a rock musician several years ago who had a "talking" guitar? had one of those phone operator type mikes fed through a pre-amp, but then fed that output into the gate circuitry of the guitar amp, used to modulate the guitar signal. Peter Frampton.
He was basically using the voice signal to corrupt the guitar amplifier. aka: Intelligible distortion
GentlemanJim 07-27-2022, 06:40 PM I had a friend of a friend who insisted that supernatural voices were giving him "guidance".
Digging deeper, the voices only spoke to him as he was walking over this one street bridge across a local river. I guess he had to cross this bridge several times per day, because he lived on one side, and all the places important to him (liquor stores, soup kitchen, library, etc) were on the other.
Over time, the tone of his accounts of the message those voices were sending him, grew darker, and more hostile. We thought it was funny that a grown man in his 30s was furious with these voices taunting him, that were (in his words) "too cowardly to stand toe to toe" with him.
Several months into this, there was a news story on the 6 oclock news about a body found floating down stream from this bridge.. Never occurred to us that it might be this guy, until it was his name in the paper the following morning. Evidently he decided to call their bluff, and went after a piece of them?
So, if you have a friend claiming to hear supernatural voices, by all means don't make the mistake we did, and just assume it was the alcohol talking. You need to INSIST they get help...ASAP!
Dude111 07-28-2022, 02:39 AM Poor guy.. His spirit was helping others!!!
GentlemanJim 07-28-2022, 11:30 AM Funny thing was, that particular bridge was one of those masonry bridges with the smooth scalloped spans, that sort of "echo" any sound made under them. So it's conceivable he may have been hearing traffic noises reverberating through the cement and then echoing underneath...AND THAT MIGHT have sounded like human speech. Of course for him to put intelligible words into those echos, and interpret any significant meaning,... would be an hallucination,...of sorts. But I think that is entirely possible.
So, maybe he WAS hearing odd sounds, and just put imaginary meaning into them?
Or another thing we didn't think of until later......but with the echo...what if there were homeless people under the bridge, and he was hearing their voices......but just assumed they were supernatural?
Picture this: They are down there talking, and allasudden they hear some guy from above screaming he's gonna kick the snot out of them.....of course they are gonna clam up, because the police are always evicting homless from under bridges in this town...so they would want to not make a scene.
SO, the whole story about him hearing uncooperative voices night have been true!! And our laughing at him for being a loon just rubbed salt into the wound?
GentlemanJim 07-28-2022, 12:28 PM Basically, a "face on Mars" scenario. Where the inspiration does physically exist. But our interpretation that the the source is somehow significant, is purely aberration.
Dude111 07-28-2022, 06:19 PM Would be neat if someone had a tape player and recorded it!!

This forum is fortunate to have a free thinker such as yourself, to ponder such things.
I'm sorry if I came across as a bit less than sympathetic. But one place I used to live had one of those "new age" stores virtually next door to me. And over time my patience with crystal gazers just sort of eroded away. YMMV :(
PaperClips 07-29-2022, 01:24 PM Years ago I ran a tape recorder and heard a "Hello" a few times. It freaked me out but your brain can misinterpret things. I'm an atheist and think all that awaits us is death. And that's okay.
Dude111 07-29-2022, 07:44 PM I find Athiests to be very open minded (And agnostics also) maybe its because yout not following a fake religon thats only meant for control!!
GentlemanJim 09-02-2022, 02:15 AM The voices (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDn2lbIltHM) are everywhere
Dude111 08-12-2023, 04:53 PM I had a friend of a friend who insisted that supernatural voices were giving him "guidance".Yes most likely his guardian angel.
