When she was about eleven, Temple had a small role in her father’s film Pandaemonium. She began acting full time in her teens, with supporting roles in Notes on a Scandal and Atonement. In the next several years she gradually raised her profile. She mixed smaller roles in big-budget films like the 2011 version of The Three Musketeers (as Anne of Austria) and The Dark Knight Rises, with starring roles in smaller films like Dirty Girl and Little Birds.
In 2013, Temple won the BAFTA Rising Star Award. She has appeared as Thistlewit in the two Maleficent films, and as Fanny Robin in Thomas Vinterberg’s adaptation of Far from the Madding Crowd. She has also continued to star in indie-scale films like Safelight and Lost Transmissions.
Temple has been a television regular on HBO’s Vinyl, on season 1 of Bravo’s Dirty John, and on the British series Little Birds. Earlier this year, she was a regular on the Paramount+ miniseries The Offer. Aside from returning for season 3 of Ted Lasso, she will be a regular on the upcoming fifth season of Fargo.
