"The Rookie" Ups Tru Valentino to Series Regular for Season 5

Officer Aaron Thorsen will be taking on larger presence within the LAPD. Tru Valentino, who joined the fourth season of ABC’s "The Rookie" in the recurring role opposite Nathan Fillion, has been promoted to series regular for the drama series’ upcoming fifth season.

Officer Aaron Thorsen is the newest rookie at the station. He appeared in 11 episodes in Season 4.

Sergeant Aaron Thorsen is leaving the mid-Wilshire division.

Deadline has confirmed that Tru Valentino, who joined the ABC series in season 4, will not return for season 7.

Tru Valentino wants to thank his fans. The actor who is exiting "The Rookie" before its seventh season posted on Instagram Friday that he will “always cherish my time on The Rookie, but couldn’t be more excited for what the future has in store.”

“I adore the friends and relationships made while being there,” he wrote on his story. “It was such an amazing opportunity, and I feel so lucky to have had the last three seasons. Thank you to the best fans in the world.

I know I don’t talk much, but I appreciate you all so much. You never know who may pop back up in the Mid-Wilshire precinct. Until then, 7 Adam 19, this is Officer Thorsen, over and out!”is leaving the mid-Wilshire division.”
