The Seth MacFarlane ‘toon was renewed (https://tvline.com/2021/12/17/treason-charlie-cox-cast-netflix-spy-drama/) in December, pre-merger, for Seasons 18 and 19. But if TBS pulls an about-face (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/w3y4x9/american_dad_miracle_workers_and_snowpiercer/) and washes its hands of the Smith family, the animated series is unlikely to stay in the Warner Bros. Discovery fold. Streaming rights for American Dad remain exclusive not to HBO Max, but to Hulu, which would make a natural home for new episodes of the Disney-owned comedy. Reps for Hulu declined to comment.
