I think Max Baer Jr. said that the Beverly Hillbillies was meant to have been a cartoon. It could have easily have been one. What others could be/been Cartoons?

I'm thinking Married With Children, Bewitched, Green Acres ( with Arnold Ziffel staring).

I'm sure there are others that actually didn't have a cartoon based on them.

Yes, you're right on mid 60's sitcoms as Cartoons. The Munsters had a Saturday Morning cartoon movie, The Mini Munsters.

With the mid to late 60's TV shows there was a great need for escape from all of the turmoil in the world. Not unlike today, I don't think current TV shows are offering as much for escaping the world around us. Luckily we have many options to fill that void with DVDs , streaming, etc.

Home Improvement could have been animated--they already did some as part of one episode.

Agreed, but only the "Tool Time" part of the show would work for me as a cartoon. Some of those contraptions that Tim made were seriously cartoony.

The Honeymooners could have been a cartoon. We could call it, oh let’s say, The Flintstones.

The Phil Silvers Show could have been a cartoon. Top Cat would be a good name for it.

All in the Family = Wait 'til Your Father Gets Home

I'm surprised that The Monkees wasn't made into a cartoon. The show itself was very cartoonlike with its characters, fast-paced action shots, and general childlike goofiness. They came along at a time when other popular teen idols of that era like the Beatles, Jackson 5, Osmonds, Archies, and the Partridge Family (and even Rick Springfield!) had their own cartoon series but the only time you saw the Monkees were when they showed reruns of their original series. It seems very sad to me, even more so now that only Micky Dolenz is left.

The Monkees would have been interesting as a cartoon. Since the show was a Saturday Morning thing that may have kept a cartoon version from happening. As for Micky Dolenz I forgot how many of the Monkees songs had him a lead singer. Plus in TV terms he did a reverse of Darwin's Theory. Micky was a Circus Boy before becoming a Monkee!

Night Court could have been an Adult cartoon.

Starring Dan, it could have aired on late night Cinemax

Perhaps. I was going for a more tame Family Guy / American Dad type cartoon. But, yes Dan would do well in your suggestion.

There was actually a cartoon based on I Dream of Jeannie called "Jeannie". You can find it on Crackle. The Partridge Family cartoon called "The Partridge Family 2200 A.D. can be found on Crackle as well.

The Beary Family from Woody Woodpecker looks a lot like The Life of Riley
