The year was 1984 and it was a successful year but a historical event occurred in computer history and to help make it's debut was a commercial that scored a lot of attention that aired during the 1984 Super Bowl. If you grew up in the 80's you'll know that this commercial announced the debut of the Macintosh computer that made Apple a huge household name in computers. The Apple Macintosh was originally known as Lisa 2 which was named for Steve Jobs's daughter. The debut commercial for the Macintosh was so well done and made a huge mark in computer history. Little did we know that this computer would spin off a series of Macintosh computers ranging from Macintosh Performa which debuted in 1994 to IMac which had Jeff Goldblum as spokesman in their commercials. But due to the success of Macintosh Apple would soon grow into a huge company that's still thriving and it's all because of this historical commercial

I think judging how successful this commercial aired during the 1984 Super Bowl Apple knew that the Macintosh would be the start of computers becoming the next big invention of the 80's. Because if it wasn't for the Macintosh Apple would not become big and because of it they introduced many more successful computers such as Apple 2GS and Apple Lisa and Macintosh Performa in 1994. I can remember when I used to use Apple 2GS computers at school for homework and they were the worst computers ever and I don't know how Apple sold these based on the Macintosh's outstanding sales because 2GS's were a pain to use. But when my teacher got a Macintosh Performa the year they came out for our school my teacher was in heaven with Macintosh Performas and they were great just like the commercials and worked good
