Do you remember the trend in past decades to take the lead actor or actress from a hit sitcom named after them and create a new sitcom named for them a few years later? Those shows usually became “one-season wonders”. Maybe the problems with the shows was that they were both too similar to and too different from their successful predecessors. Some that come to mind are “The New Bob Cummings Show”, “The New Andy Griffith Show”, and “The New Dick Van Dyke Show”.
