View Full Version : If you had to live in a 50/60s show
Tankeryanker 07-07-2022, 09:34 PM which show would you live in and why?
I think I could handle being June's daughter at least the person I am now could. I am not sure I could as the real teenager I was back in the day.
I would not like to live with the Andersons as much.
ThisLittlePiggy 07-07-2022, 11:11 PM Mister Ed
Because I could talk to the horse, of course
stevea 07-09-2022, 10:01 AM Bewitched, to see some of the magic and maybe get a cure or two from Dr. Bombay.
Bonniegirl 07-09-2022, 02:24 PM I pick I Love Lucy ! I wouldn't mind being a housewife living in a nice brownstone in a good section of NY back in the day ! And than moving over to the country/ Connecticut !

That would be fun! And Chatsworth, Ca. was so nice, peaceful and rural back than. Great place to live and have horses, esp. cool if one of them were a talking horse! :D

I'm picturing you stuffing eggs in your sweater and then dancing the tango with Ricky!

Yes, and Mr. Ed is so funny too. He'd keep me laughing all day long.
Dude111 07-10-2022, 04:01 AM Mr. Ed :)
Or leave it to beaver!!
CosmicCharlie 07-10-2022, 06:47 PM I'd like to live next door to I Dream of Jeannie for obvious reasons !
Mayberry
To see what it has to offer and visit some of the residents.
GentlemanJim 07-15-2022, 07:57 PM I've thought about it a few days now, and although there are compelling reasons supporting both TAGS and IDOJ....I think my favorite would have to be Gilligan's Island.
Those people were living in paradise and were too myopic to realize it
I'd like to try a hybrid sort of time warp, like say, going back into the 50s temporarily as a person of today, like in the movie 'Pleasantville' or 'Back to the Future'.
You could either be as conforming as was customary then, or as "edgy" as you'd like to gain advantages in certain situations. Imagine the possibilities...

I have wondered the outcome of the Civil war if only one side had cellphones.

Or in the US today it seems ONLY one party has the Guns !

It's an intriguing thought. I'm wondering if I'd need to steer clear of "myself" or if I'd occupy my younger self. Now there's a scary thought--I'd have to sit thru school again. Ugh...what a pleasure it would be to return to the present!
Or maybe I'd need to go back to a time before I was born.
Howard 07-28-2022, 06:46 PM I agree; too G-RATED family but a gr8 escape from MY family that was always bickering! I much prefer the Danny Thomas Show family as they were ALWAYS yelling and fighting!
biffbronson 07-30-2022, 05:11 PM Here's a reason I'd like to live next-door to the Baxter home on Hazel:
278424
(...not to mention maybe getting to sample Hazel's cooking & baking.)
stevea 07-30-2022, 10:11 PM Good reason!
Adamantium 07-31-2022, 01:36 PM After thinking it over for a while, I think I'd choose to live in the world of How to Marry a Millionaire. If I couldn't make myself a millionaire and be of romantic interest to the girls in this scenario, I'd at least settle for working in the penthouse they live at so I could befriend them and possibly hang out with them. I think all three of the original women are gorgeous.
spiderrob8 10-20-2022, 12:38 PM I wouldn't mind living Ward Cleaver's wife.
If fantasy is allowed, well it's hard to say no to I Dream of Jeanie. A wish granting, gorgeous, fun girl who loves you and calls you master? LOL I would not make her sleep in a bottle.
Torgo 10-20-2022, 01:01 PM Torgo's Island. Name change after I sneak Skipper, Gilligan, the Professor, and The Howells off the island.
stevea 10-20-2022, 01:05 PM So you don't crave Life with Lovey, huh?
Torgo 10-20-2022, 03:02 PM So you don't crave Life with Lovey, huh?
Only if she wears her Honeybees costume.
Dude111 10-20-2022, 03:49 PM I wouldn't mind living next to Ward Cleaver's wife.I wonder if he ever talked to June when they werent doing a show??
CosmicCharlie 10-20-2022, 05:13 PM LOL most of us here are probably OLDER than Mrs Howell /Natalie Schafer (November 5, 1900 -- was during the show (64 the 1st year / Mr Howell was 48)
