Jerry Mather’s the Beaver had been acting since he was 2.5 years old by last airing date was 15.5 so that’s 13 year. That is all if his toddlerhood through much of his youth. Was Jerry’s “loss of acting” ability due to any of or all these factors; 1. Losing interest in acting due to wanting have a normal life, 2a) Weaker character writing later in the series, 2b) His character being written as being immature ie some of actions and not really liking girls until pretty late in the last season, 3. Maybe even not liking acting anymore as he less comfortable with himself as a teen, and 4. He may have also not the main young carrying the show since Wally would likely in far fewer shows.?

How does one thrive as an adult after you realize the bulk of your success up to that point was derived from your being presented as innocent and naive? I don't think Jerry wanted to become the next Harpo Marx

I watched an interview with BB who said as Jerry got older, he became very self-conscious (as most teenagers do) and lost the carefreeness of his earlier years.
