What did you think about GSN's latest original, "Lingo?" I thought it was great and I hope it stays around on GSN longer than just 20 original episodes. Chuck seemed to enjoy the game and it was fun to play along with at home.

What does everyone else think of it?

I did'nt see it yet but I've definitely seen the previews. It's an original and it's fun. And I bet Chuck will be a good host. He was great in Scrabble, The Love Connection, The Dating Game, The Wheel of Fortune among the many...

What are the names of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's two sons?

If you can answer this and a bunch of other questions, maybe you've got what it takes to...

William and Harry are Prince Charles and Princess Diana's sons.

The Love Connection! I haven't seen that show in who knows how long. Too bad they don't rerun TLC.

It's DEFINITELY the best original yet.

I really enjoy Lingo it's a lot of fun and it's original. What is with this only 20 episodes thing? That's a joke right! I think it should be around for quite a while. My overal grade is a B+ A couple of minor negatives:

1. Those prizes in the bonus round are too cheesy and should alternate. No one wants to see the same crap given away week after week. I don't believe that all that stuff, (A movie gift card, watches, a pocket digital camera, and pocket PC totals over $5000!)

2. How come in the bonus round, if a letter is out of place (with the green circle around it) they just put it in the right place for the player? Keep it like the original first two rounds of play Same with the player getting 2 letters per word in the bonus round. Make it 1 letter per word just like in the regular rounds.

3. The soundtrack is not syncronized with the words spoken! This should be corrected

Overal a very good show for a cable network. BTW, anybody know what they do if both teams have a tie going into the bonus round?

Well, if the first week of ratings are any indication (it tied with Russian Roulette as the highest-rated original on the network), then the show will get renewed for more than 20 episodes. It's only 20 episodes for right now, but, if it does well, they'll order more.

Well, most people don't watch game shows to see prizes anyways... But, the show is so cheap because the network had VERY little faith in the shows ability to do well in the ratings; however, it has become a break-away hit.

Then people are going to get less balls. You DO want to see people WIN, don't you?

The show was shot in Holland, which uses the PAL format, and the conversation to NTSC causes a bit of degredation in the quality of the tape. However, if the show gets renewed, they will build a set in the US, using NTSC cameras.

No idea.

I must be the only person that thought this was really boring. *shrugs*

Nice to hear RR is doing well though.

Interesting....Where did you here that the show was shot in Holland? If that's the case, how did they get all the United States Contestents?

I don't remember where it was reported. But, if you look at the end credits, you'll notice about three or four American names. They used the crew from the Holland version of the show, and they used the set, and the stage, and the cameras, and the everything. And, for contestants, they used mostly American nationals that were visiting or living in Holland at the time.

B-O-R-I-N-G. Oh wait, that's a six letter word. The game barely holds my attention.

Lingo is a great original, and is one of GSN's best. Can't wait for those new episodes to start airing in December. The reruns are starting to get old now. :)
