Real question——Why is the statue out on the docks? Is there some significance to that that I’m missing?

I don't think there is. He used to be on the other end of Navy Pier next to a grassed area and that's where I thought that he still was at first because there's a bunch of pictures online of him there, plus I saw that there were other statues there. We checked there first and then we had to walk all the way to the other end to find him.

Cool ! I'm thinking maybe cause they figure a lot of tourists might he there at the pier and Dr. Hartley/ Bob Newhart is very associated with Chicago ? Or he's at the docks cause he is a doc.? :D

Yeah, it would seem like it would be more associated with where Dr.Hartley's office was , but I guess they think the sidewalks there are already too crowded and it would be in the way of foot traffic?!:confused:
