James Burrows and Glen and Les Charles and those who have entertained us for decades and we all know their names but can walk anonymously down the street, unlike the players of the shows they did, and if it wasnt for those guys the players would not have been known or as well known.

I saw this in my recommendations yesterday. I think this was his only late night talk show appearance to promote his book. It's a very good 25+ minute interview.

James talks about working with Jimmy and Norman Lear on “Live in Front of a Studio Audience,” his new book “Directed by James Burrows,” casting Danny DeVito in “Taxi,” working with Christopher Lloyd and Andy Kaufman, Andy’s Tony Clifton character, directing “Cheers,” Woody Harrelson joining the cast after Nicholas Colasanto passed away, taking Ted Danson to his first baseball game, the cast watching the “Cheers” finale together, reading the “Friends” script for the first time, Matt Damon unfortunately making it into the book, “Will & Grace” being such a big success and Joe Biden being a fan of the show, Norman Lear celebrating his 100th birthday in July, and some of the greatest sitcom actors ever.
