I'm certain that many of you are familiar with Rita Coolidge.
She has had a very long career in music, achieving her greatest recording successes in the late 1970s (and she also had a #1 Adult Contemporary hit in 1983).
She remains very active. I'm excited to attempt a ranking of my favorite songs of hers:

1. We're All Alone (1977)
2. I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love (1979)
3. (Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher (1977)
*4. Echo My Heart* (1987 ?)
5. All Time High (1983)

*I've been told that "Echo My Heart" has not been released on CD. I love the song, here is a link to a Farm Aid III / 1987 video with Rita performing:

Rita Coolidge is one amazing singer and I first heard her version of We're All Alone on a female songwriters album I bought from Target and I was blown away by her voice and I was surprised at how well she could sing and it surprises me that her career is still going strong. Among the other facts I learned about Rita Coolidge was that her sister was the wife of Booker T of Booker T And The MG's and that she was the one who asked Boz Scaggs if Rita could cover the song and soon Rita scored a huge hit though it was a cover of Jackie Wilson's Higher And Higher that made Rita a household name. I love singing along to We're All Alone because it's a really nice song with great lyrics
