Edith is the kind of lady I would like to meet in person.Nothing really gets her angry... gulliable & a little silly... I don't see how Edith could be married to someone who doesn't respect her.I know Archie loved her & the show is funny but sometimes it bothered me how he put her down all the time & yet she'd be so nice & everything.I really hated that one episode he cheated on Edith with some woman he met at a bar or something I think.I clapped when Edith eventually found out... Was there an episode Edith cheated on Archie... I mean there were time when she stood up for herself.

Check out Archie Bunker's Place. After Edith's death, he really mellowed down.

Archie was a product of his generation. Not that that should excuse his behavior. But, Edith stuck it to him a few times. She is one of my all time favorite characters. She reminds me of my deceased Grandma. My grandma wasn't scatter brained. But, she always saw the good in people no matter what. the world needs more Ediths!:D
I got to thinking, Edith wasn't really a scatter brain. She was just an extremely happy person who refused to see the bad in things.
