Hey gang! I'm back from the beach!

I was browsing the web in search for info on the possible disinterrment of John Candy from his grave due to non payment of fees by the family (weird, huh?) when I came across a website by accident. It is a free online encyclopedia called wikipedia that has the feature of readers being able to edit the articles. On a lark, I put Freddie's name in and found a short article. It had a few inaccurate statements about him (dates) and I was able to edit it. I suppose we could write a whole big article on him and give him the recognition he truly deserves. (BTW I added the last sentence to the article about his death being changed to Accidental) What do you all think? I would love feedback. With all of the research I have done on Freddie for my story "Salvation", I would love to tackle this. Laz told me once that I have a knack for research and have done a fine job so far. Let me know.

BTW the URL for the site is :
http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/Freddie_Prinze

I am glad to be home and back on the boards. Two more weeks and I will be back to school, tho :( Then I never have enough time to write or anything. I am still working on a mystery story for the fan fiction site and I know a few of my diehard fans want another chapter of "A New Beginning." I will try to get to all of this done in the next two weeks between shuttleing my daughter back and forth to soccer practices and her job at the local grocery store and getting my classroom ready for the start of school. Whew!!

I just went back to the page and hit the link for the day Jan 28th (the day he shot himself) to see what else famous happened on that date and found that the Challenger explosion was on that date too! How sad!!! :(:(:(

Luckymama, I think its great you set the dates right on Freddie. Not a bad idea on writing something on him, because he does deserve it.

I meant to add, I`m sorry to hear that about John Candy. The same thing happened to Peter Lawford.

Welcome back! Can't wait to read the new stories! :)

I read the article you posted there & wound up adding more stuff to it. Hope no one minds. If I'm wrong on anything & even if I'm not feel free to edit. It will be interesting to see how it comes out. :)

I read the article......

You are right, its a little paragraph without much information
on Freddie.
I know that there are a lot of good writers in this group that can make a nice bio that makes justice to our Freddie.

Great idea, Marie(Luckymama):lightb:

Wow, Cheryl, nice job. I, too, added some more. I think we can make this a joint effort and write a nice tribute to our Prinze. Just remember a couple of rules, since this is an encyclopedia article.

1. Be objective.... try not to state opinion. See the site's policy and suggestions on this at

http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view

2. Check your facts... there are enough sources for the "facts" of Freddie's life so we don't get it wrong and look like we don't know what we are doing. Sorry if this is a pet peeve of mine, but I have enough magazine and book articles with incorrect info in them that makes me cringe. The least we can do for Freddie is set the record straight. My suggestion would be to start with his mother's book!

3. Another rule of the site states that the info must be in our own words. Be careful not to plagarize. (Don't copy word for word from other articles.)

http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights

4. Check your spelling and English grammar. I am notorious for not doing this, so I am preaching to the choir here. Again, we want this to appear to be a scholarly article.

5. I really think it is important to read the policies and guidelines of the site so that we can continue to be a part of the vision of the site.

Thanks for everyone's input in this effort of love! I know Freddie would be pleased with this. Everyone is free to add to this effort! Again the site URL is

You did a great job in updating on the site! You remembered some stuff I had forgotten to put in there like the Looking Good album. :)

Hi again.

I discovered how to set up links and start other articles, so I started one for the show too. It can be found at:

http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/Chico_and_the_Man

We are still working on this one, it is by no means complete. We are also working on the Freddie one too.

http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/Freddie_Prinze

Please feel free to contribute to either of these.

I just wanted to give you all an update on the wikipedia site. A couple of us are really having fun and have added a whole lot to the site on our favorite topic ... CATM and the stars of the show. We are also getting into editing and starting articles about other interests as well.

You can view (and edit, if you feel so inclined) the articles related to CATM at the following links. Before you edit, please check out the site rules and procedures. Thanks!
