Wow, that's amazing. I'm really curious when, and why, he had a double.

Since they're all very early in the season show, is it due to limitations of vocabulary/articulate-ness of the very young Jerry Mathers?

Looking at the list, it's hard to figure out where they'd need a double in those episodes. By year those are all season 1.

It's possible they could use a double after the kid star's day is over, and the adults are filming; they'd have to be careful with camera angles.

Some later episodes where I'd bet they used stunt doubles would be the episode where Beaver goes out in Wally and friends' kayak, and "In the Soup."

Are there any pics of him as Beaver's double?
Seems a dead end. Now I'm thinking did anyone else have a double?

The double could have been used for pick-up shots

Interesting. I just learned something new, as I've never heard of the term "pick-up shot" and then read up on it. I can see now why they'd have a need for a double every now and then.

Ditto. I had to look that one up, too. It makes perfect sense.

Pick-up Shot

In film making, a pick-up is a small, relatively minor shot filmed or recorded after the fact ... or may ask for a pick-up shot of only the faulty portion of an otherwise ...

on tv shows I often see a minor character show up that looks A LOT like one of the lead characters - and think they were maybe used a temp stand in to prep the scene prior to the real actors arrival, and then they actually got a few Bit Parts +- (what they were hoping for !)

Maybe ?
