View Full Version : Sitcom characters named Larry
catlover79 02-01-2009, 02:27 AM Has anyone else ever noticed that many sitcom characters named Larry seem to be greedy and/or schemers?
For example:
Larry Tate - Bewitched
Larry Dallas - Three's Company
Larry Mondello - Leave It To Beaver
Larry Appleton - Perfect Strangers
Nighthawk76 02-01-2009, 02:52 AM Larry Appleton rocked! I LOVED Perfect Strangers growing up. It would be great if some station would bring it back. It's the only Miller-Boyett show that isn't in reruns. Well, that and The Hogan Family.

Larry Sanders - but I never watched the show so I don't know if he was greedy or a schemer!!;)
Larry David(Curb Your Enthusiasm) - now, this one I watched. I don't think he's greedy what he doesn't find trouble, trouble finds him!!

At least the first 2 seasons are on DVD. Anyone else remember the Peter Pan peanut butter jingles Mark Linn-Baker did back in the late 1980s? :D

Since I created this thread - and since the Stooges influenced so many sitcom actors - I say YES!! :D

Yes!! It was a short lived series that starred Bronson Pinchot as the Larry of the title. Of course we remember Bronson best as the cousin of another Larry!!!

catlover79 02-03-2009, 06:16 PM ^ I guess I forgot about that Larry (even though I love TBNS) because he wasn't vain.
catlover79 02-17-2009, 09:58 PM I've been watching the first season of Perfect Strangers on DVD and am surprised that Larry Appleton wasn't that much of a schemer. (I haven't seen the early episodes since I was a kid.) Maybe he just couldn't outscheme Twinkie.
