A Honeymooners Father’s Day/June Eighteenth:
(The Kramdens and Nortons are in the Hong Kong Gardens.)
Ralph: “Alice, while we are waiting for your Dad and your blabbermouth of a Mom…”
(Alice rolls her eyes.)
Ralph: “…take a look at all of the black families here. This is also another holiday June Eughteenth.”
Alice: “That’s right Ralph.”
Ed: “A rarity that two holidays fall on the same day.”
Trixie: “That’s right.”
Ralph: “They are all celebrating Father’s Day. Too bad we are not parents.”
Alice: “June Eighteenth. That’s the day that the black slaves were free.”
Ralph: “They celebrated their freedom from being slaves.”
Ed: “They fortunately didn’t do what we did when we claimed that we were celebrating our freedom, which was getting drunk on cold grape juice.”
(They laugh.)
Ralph: “There they are. Celebrating June Eighteenth and getting gifts because it’s Dads Day.”
Ed: “I remember getting my Dad a very good gift as a kid. A Captain Video t-shirt.”
(They all roll their eyes.)
Trixie: “Now, they are getting like two holidays for the price of one.”
(They all sing a song about getting two holidays for the price of one with everyone dancing.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie: “Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I would love to wish everyone here a Happy Father’s Day & June Eighteenth. The Miami Beach versions of these are the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!”
(Crowd cheers.)
