"Don't cross the street in the middle in the middle in the middle of the park"
Perhaps you remember this popular commercial that featured this jingle if you lived in New York? This commercial from New York Public Safety was a public service announcement from circa 1962 according to the liner notes of my Teevee Toons The Commercials album was a popular commercial and when you watch the commercial you can see why the jingle is really cute. I don't know if there was another commercial that New York Safety did but even today it's surprising that public service announcement commercials are not done like this

I remember that ad growing up in New Jersey. There was the closing line that went "And wait. And wait. Until you see the light turn green."
