Colorado is going to be well rested. They have a lot of firepower, especially on defense.

Tampa Bay just find ways to win. They have more experience, the better defense and edge in goaltending.

Tampa Bay completes the three-peat in 6 games.

Yeah. And Game 2 is on Saturday. That would’ve been painfully stressful.

Grateful to Tampa for the help, but I’ll probably find myself pulling for Colorado. Residual bitterness over the past couple of years and such.

What's the old saying? If you can't beat them, join them. Corey Perry lost twice to Tampa Bay.

Good Game 1. Colorado's rest helped them.

Pat Maroon has won three consecutive Stanley Cups on two different teams.

2019 - St. Louis
2020 - Tampa Bay
2021 - Tampa Bay

A bunch of Islanders have won 4 in a row. For nostalgia's sake I'll list 'em, cut and pasted to save me some typing time....

Mike Bossy, Bob Bourne, Clark Gillies, Butch Goring, Anders Kallur, Gord Lane, Dave Langevin, Wayne Merrick, Ken Morrow, Bob Nystrom, Stefan Persson, Denis Potvin, Billy Smith, Duane Sutter, John Tonelli and Bryan Trottier

And a growing number of them have died of old age.

Probably all of them before they win it again.

Colorado dominates from start to finish to take game 2. But remember, a series can’t be pronounced over till the home team loses a game.

Game 2 was such domination people seemingly forgot game 1 went to overtime, and OT is basically a coin toss. Tampa wasn’t as dead as it felt.

Could be the end tonight. The Cup will be in the building! Benefits both ways. Tampa win means more hockey. But also I'm ready to put this season to rest. Hasn't been the happiest of ones.

[Sidenote- Isles still the last team to win 3+ in a row, and their 19 straight playoffs series wins will survive a bit longer. So I’m good]

Congratulations to Colorado for winning their third Stanley Cup championship.

They were the best team in the playoffs. 16-4 is a pretty good run. They scored the clutch goals when they needed them.

Tough break for Corey Perry. My prediction is that whoever signs him next season will lose in the Finals.

Hey guys,

There's a celebration going on in Denver today and for those that missed it

This past Sunday Night, the Avalanche went to Tampa Bay and def. the Lightning 2-1 in Game 6 to win the series 4-2 and as a result, the Lighting's hope of clinching a 3-peat came to an end

Colorado Avalanche; 3x Stanley Cup Champions

Congratulations to the Avalanche
