In 1997 the movie Soul Food hit theaters and was a surprise hit and based on that alone who knew that a drama series based on Soul Food would follow. Showtime debuted the Soul Food TV series in 1998 and it ran till 2000. Following the events of the movie of the same name the show was a great spin-off of the movie. Most of the actors of the movie reprised their original roles and it is the only TV drama series to be produced by Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and his ex-wife Tracey Edmonds. It would be a good show for Bounce to add to their lineup because it was certainly a great series
