and you know what it is: Technology, sitting and working and playing
at the computers 24/7, many go to bed with their instruments.

It's a crime, and I hear it over and over again on some groups I'm on, but not
so much on groups with OLDER people, people who escaped a lot the wild tech world...

People are suffering with no sleep or so little sleep. Sleep is #1 for healing
our bodies.... so many drugged with pharma sleep drugs.

I started having sleep issues after Menopause, in my 50's, and was told I have Fibro, but not sure about the fibro stuff.

So I got to work in about 1999 and came up with my Sleep Recipe. And in recent months, I started turning off the computer by 8PM.......

I'll post what works for me, and do what you want with my info....Key is to start taking "the stuff" about 2 hrs before one wants to put their heads on
the pillow for a good night's sleep. Starting early gets the body ready for sleep.

I like to hit the pillow at 11:30PM or so, and start taking "my stuff" at about
9:30pm.

Start first with 500mg Inositol or Inositol/Choline combo...either work.

About 10-10:30PM I take:

1/2 mg Melatonin
500mg Tryptophan
50mg P5P (Vit B6 best form)
1 tab Calms Forte Homeopathic Calming tab

People can adjust all or some of the above for their bodies.

For me, I also take 1 iburprofen every 6 hrs as I live with arthritic
pain and this low dose help to manage the pain and damage I deal
with.

Peace out all and get some SLEEP.

I think its partly due to not having a good place to lay down! (Nothing feels good anymore)

I wish I still had the bed I had for 30+ years!! (Sadly it was needing repair and we threw it out instead of trying to fix it)

What, why can't you buy a new bed, nothing fancy, good mattress, I'm happy I don't have a bed I had 30 yrs ago, my Sleep Number double bed, no bells and whistles is so great and I'm sleeping on it about 10 yrs now.

I have always slept real easy. But the last few years I find myself occasionally wide awake on the pillow And what I've discovered is if I eat anything with too high a sugar content before bed, that is what was keeping me awake. Never used to be that way, but I guess my metabolism changes as I get older?

Especially cookies. Made me think about that old Taxi episode with Latka's cookies "with the nice little surprise inside", and wondered if one of the writers might have gotten the idea from similar experience.

I used to have a built-in alarm clock, waking up within 5 minutes to either side of 6 AM. But amymore I find I can sleep until 10:45 regularly, if left undisturbed.

Well, yes sugar is an upper, but to not eat anything after 6-7PM if this fits into people's lives has been suggested for as long as I can remember.

Thing that amuses me about it all (the late sugar) is that it wasn't always this way, just the last 3-4 years.

In fact, after a lifetime of indifference, it really took quite a bit of reflection to determine what was keeping me up.Had to accept that things change.

Other thing that seems to be age related, but historically I've always been able to eat huge meals, put a serious hurt on buffet style restaurants.
But no more.....I get to a certain level of fullness, my body goes into purge mode the last 10 years or so.

So I find myself eating smaller meals, but more frequently. Happy balance! If I stopped eating completely at 7 PM, I suspect being hungry might keep me awake at bedtime. That "comfort food" thing going on.

I suppose everyone sleeps great here, but somehow I question that.

I sleep good 8-10 hrs nightly and I do have a sleep recipe and I believe I posted it
above.

Last night I had a rough patch about 3AM and couldn't get back to sleep after the
bathroom, my mind got too busy. So I took a Calms Forte' homeopathic tablet and was asleep in a short time.

Look at Calms, it's non addicting, no side effects and very easy on the pocketbook...

This says the less sleep we get the better!

http://web.archive.org/web/20020416153235/http://health.ucsd.edu/news/2002/02_08_Kripke.html

I have a very hard time sleeping.. I think its my anxiety I guess... Carole wondered if it was really my bed and it may be part of it but the fact I am so sad doesnt help things......

I scanned this base first to see if there was any threads on "SLEEP" before I posted a new thread..... There are several threads but this one was the best to add my reply to :) (I see I posted in it before)
