Hello Everyone,

I have a curious question about Bob Denver and his "Dobie Gillis" role of Maynard G. Krebs: was the Goatee Bob sported as Maynard authentic (e.g. did Bob REALLY Grow the Goatee for Maynard) or was it, like Groucho Marx with his Mustache for most of his career, a facial wig (like Buddy Ebsen as Jed Clampett on "The Beverly Hillbillies")?

Either way, I'm curious to know the truth, because in OTHER roles Bob Denver, such as Gilligan, never had any Authentic Facial Hair.
