The best comedy duos IMO are:

Lucy and Ethel (or Viv)
Laverne and Shirley
Andy and Barney Fife

They seem to make a scene funny naturally in the way they work off each other.

What duos do you like?

I think Lucy and Ethel (I Love Lucy), George & Gracie (The George Burns & Gracie Allen Show), Balki and Larry (Perfect Strangers), and Laverne & Shirley (L&S) were all great comedy duos.

Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton (Jackie Gleason and Art Carney) were perfection. Arguably the best duo on TV.

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello brought their comic teamwork from film to TV for their 50's show. They were amazing together too..

As much as I love those duos I have to stray from the crowd and add one. Not one of the best like Lucy & Ethel but still funny.
So my favorite duo besides the obvious is Tony & Angela. I just think they're funny together. I would've said Angela & Mona but Mona is funny with everyone so I'll just stick with the two I picked.

I don't know if the Smothers Brothers were the best but they were certainly the most controversial comedy duo.
