I'm surprised no promos or opening credits have turned up for it. There weren't many VCRs around in 1975. Maybe Paramount+ would put it up some day since it was a Paramount series.

Putting two rookie shows back-to-back was a risky move, but I guess they didn't have many options. The Montefuscos and Fay had short runs on Thursday nights on NBC before Grady and The Cop and the Kid were scheduled. It really never had much of a chance against The Waltons, which finished in the top 15.

The kid (Lucas Adams) was played by Tierre Turner. He guest starred on That's My Mama and The Bob Newhart Show. He also starred on the Joe Namath sitcom The Waverly Wonders on NBC in 1978. Only four episodes aired before it was replaced by Diff'rent Strokes.

He now works as a stunt performer/coordinator on movies/TV. He did a podcast interview last year.

Yeah I remember him on That;s My Mama,

Also You have a 70's show Message board missing from 1975 called On the Rocks. It lasted a full season featuring Hal Williams from 227. I had this show in my possession when I was a tape trader so I actually seen it

At least Tierre Turner has some copies of The Cop And The Kid. He should put it on YouTube.

Interesting that The Cop And The Kid made the cover of the TV section of the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
