She was a sweet, adorable, provocative and younger version of Mary Tyler Moore (That means she often
had pre-marital sex) and she was highly under-rated and her presense is sorely missed.

A lot of people don't know this but she was the absolute STAR of an unsold pilot sitcom. It looked GREAT and was witty and funny. Never saw it? See it here and tell me if you think it had any potential.

Karen is cute and 'The Karen Valentine Program' seemed like a cute program, but a little too much of a copycat of Mary and Rhoda. Maybe if they retooled it a little bit, it may have sold.

Actually, she did star in her own sitcom, Karen, on ABC (Jan. 30, 1975-
June 19, 1975). She even made the cover of TV Guide during the
show's brief run. The supporting cast included Charles Lane (in the role
played by Denver Pyle in the pilot) and Dena Dietrich (best remembered as
"Mother Nature" in a series of popular TV commercials, with the catch-phrase
"It's not nice to fool Mother Nature"). On the show, Karen played a dedicated
young woman who worked for a Capitol Hill citizens lobby.

In the last two photos, Karen Valentine looks like an African-American. She is supposed to be the only main cast member who is not African American, being of Italian and Portuguese descent.

Karen Valentine was very cute and I like her very much, but I would compare her more to Sally Field. She had a very good first season on Room 222. Her role became more serious as the series progressed. I love the chemistry of the entire cast, especially between Denise Nicholas and Lloyd Hanes.

Just because she was a so-called younger version of MTM is no indication she often had pre-marital sex. I'm not saying she did or didn't, just that you have no way of knowing for sure and likewise neither do I.

She was a really fun , pretty lady! That is how I remembered her as a little girl. Looking back at her pictures now she still looks fun and pretty, but in a 52 year old lady point of view, she also looks adorable and cute!!

Why the "Magic Johnson" owned "Aspire" doesn't add "Room 222" to its' classic but rare sitcom line-up is beyond me?....I love "Julia" but 6 times a day! along with '68 Bill Cosby, Flip Wilson, I Spy, Soul Train.....but for over 3 years now, there hasn't been a program schedule change. "Room 222" would be perfect! LISTEN UP MAGIC before you "Aspire" no more!

BTW....Have two episodes of the above mentioned 70's sitcom "Karen" from TV Land when they were a cool and watchable cable channel. Plus 6 episodes from the 80's NBC summer/retro variety series "Our Time" hosted by Karen. A classic "Laugh-In" type limited & forgotten series. Google it, was excellent with 60's guest stars and music!

Room 222 should be picked up somewhere. IDK if I get aspire on Time warner Cable? I'd like to check out some of those shows you listed. If they don't put Room 222 on , Antenna or METV should. Or Cozi! ;)

Just saw Karen on Starsky and Hutch tonight. She played a love interest of Hutch's who turned out to be obsessive over him and pretty much psycho. Really weird seeing sweet Karen Valentine playing a roll like that! But she pulled it off, she's a good actress! I posted more about it on Starsky and Hutch's forum.

I always enjoyed watching Karen in anything, especially Room 222. Saw her in a made for tv movie a few years ago & she still looked great.

Are you referring to the character Karen played in the unsold piliot to which I provided a link? (The link confirms the promiscuity of the central figure (played by K.V.) or are you referring to Karen Valentine in real life....of course there would be no way I would know.

I remember Karen mainly for her many Hollywood Squares appearances:
