D-Dey 09-11-2020, 02:20 AM Since I really didn't watch Game of Thrones (although I did catch a glimpse of it from somebody who did), I'll still remember her for The Avengers more than anything else.

I remember Diana Rigg as the host of PBS' Mystery...now she joins Vincent Price and Edward Gorey who did the animation for the Mystery intro.

I loved the Mystery intro!
Diana Rigg's specialty was playing the smartest person in the room (https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2020-09-10/diana-rigg-avengers-game-of-thrones-appreciation)
The Avengers and Game of Thrones star, who died this week at age 82, "could play all sorts of people; that’s just what good actresses do," says Robert Lloyd. "But her most notable creations do share certain qualities. They’re intelligent, often the smartest person in the scene. They know their mind. They are unshockable, or if shocked, it is subtly and just for a second — a quizzical raised eyebrow followed by a look that says, 'I know what this is, and what to do about it.' They are bored by inaction, impatient with indecision." Diana Rigg never watched Game of Thrones (https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/diana-rigg-game-thrones-olenna-tyrell-emmy-b430732.html)
Despite earning multiple Emmy nominations for her role as Olenna Tyrell on the HBO series, the late actress admitted last year to never watching the show "before or since" appearing on it. “Just like The Avengers, I wasn’t watching Game of Thrones and had absolutely no idea of its influence in the world.” she told the Canneseries TV festival.
I really liked her on The Avengers, may she rest in peace.
Game of Thrones cast and crew recall working with Diana Rigg, including the time she stormed off the set (https://ew.com/tv/diana-rigg-stormed-off-game-of-thrones/)
The upcoming Game of Thrones book Fire Cannot Kill a Dragon by James Hibberd details how the acclaimed actress, who died last week at age 82, could be fierce backstage. "I was terrified of Diana Rigg," says Emmy-nominated director Mark Mylod. Natalie Dormer, who played Olenna's ambitious granddaughter Margaery Tyrell, adds: "When you have someone who has that many accolades, you just shut up and watch. She had a very dry sense of humor and was aware of the parody of herself. Sometimes I think she was mischievous to see what she could get away with."
Sgt. Saunders 11-04-2022, 11:39 PM Like millions of other young boys, I developed a huge crush for the great Dame Diana Rigg, when she first appeared on American television as the beautiful and sophisticated Mrs. Emma Peel on “The Avengers” along with the wonderful Patrick Macnee.
Several years later, I saw Dame Diana perform in “The Misanthrope” on Broadway with the legendary Alec McCowen. What a great actress, she was. And Dame Diana was always so charming, outgoing and down-to-earth. She was an absolutely remarkable and outstanding person.
Requiem aeternam, Dame Diana.
