Now, the picture painted by Sheldon on Big Bang Theory made his father seem to be a much harsher and meaner character.
That characterization was softened for this show -- understandably, as he would have been too unlikeable in that incarnation -- but I was surprised that George Sr. didn't die in the 5th season finale.
Given that Sheldon's Dad died when he was 14 and Sheldon was 9 when the show premiered, I thought for certain he would die in the finale.
They seemed to be sending George Sr. down some dark pathways -- they were hinting at a possible affair with the neighbor who's husband had left her and he got fired from his coaching job.
So, are they keeping him on for another year or are they going to deviate from the Big Bang timeline and not kill him off until maybe, say, the very last episode....?
