As a self-proclaimed "maven" of this series, they always slept in twin beds side by in both the old house (seasons1/2) and the remainder of this show.

Was the boys room in the “first house” supposed to smaller then the one in the “second house”?

Probably--you'd have to think the 2nd house was generally roomier, and of course it had the den the first house lacked.

One of the parents made the comment at the end of season 2 that the boys would have theor own rooms--not, as it turned out.
