I lve this show and I heard a lot of people hate hger because of her voice. :( So I'm taking a random poll to see who I should hate. :lol: :joke: I just found this one of the funniest sitcoms of the 90's, even though I think Chicago is the only City that likes it! :lol; And TJ, please don't move this. I just put it here so more people would see it since the Nanny board is practically dead.

I think this show is annoying. Ditto her voice. I never found it funny either.

You don't have to hate me...I LOVE THIS SHOW! It is a favorite of mine. Every character on this show makes me laugh. I also appreciated the fact that they let the kids grow up on this sitcom...a lot of shows don't do that. And the C.C./Niles affair of the last season was priceless humor. This show is one of the best! And as for Fran's voice...it never really bothered me. It was a part of what made her such an enjoyable character to watch. I hope this show airs in syndication for many years to come!:)

I never liked The Nanny.

I like the show actually. Her voice too. It can be annoying sometimes but it works out too like when she's on shows like Friends. It's quite humorous sometimes but I got used to the voice and I actually grew to like it.

Last I saw it was on UPN in Chicago, but when I moved about 2 years ago, I never got to see it again, but Lifetime is adding it this fall!!!! I'm so excited. I only brought this subjects up because most people seem to hate it just for her voice. I love Fran Dresher! She's awesome. So as you can see, I'm looking forward to seeing the show again.

Her voice actually works for her character, however, I never found it funny.

I didn't know it was coming to Lifetime! Yippee!!! It airs here in Topeka, KS at 11:30 am on KSNT 27. I guess I'm lucky to get to see it!

I just never found it funny. I really don't hate the show because of her voice. That would be a stupid reason to hate a show.

I must admit, I used to watch the show all the time when it was on CBS. But I was young and naive. :D Now, I can't stand to sit through one episode of this show. I think Fran's voice does it to me, I'm sorry to say.

oo i love this show! I think its funny. Fran is one of the few good female comic actresses out there and the show proved it. Her voice never bothered me either. I mean, i dont see how its really annoying. I dunno... i think its the older u are, more the annoying sounds are, but i could be wrong. my parents hate it but my grandparents love it. whatever! funny stuff.

I love this show! Fran's voice never bothered me, and anyway it goes with the character. Plus all the other characters were so funny too, especially Niles, I love it when he gets C.C. with those one-liners. I think Fran is one of the most underrated comediennes, she is really very talented and funny and she deserves much more credit than she gets. Her autobiography is a great read too. I'll always be a Fran fan!!:wave:

Yes, this show is sooo funny and I think she has a unique voice, but you get used to it after awhile. The character of Fran Fine wouldn't have been the same without that voice. I agree that Fran Dresher is an excellent comedianne, right up there with Lucille Ball and Carol Brunette.

I actually love this show! I've seen it every once in a while during the 90's, but never really got into it until now (partly because I didn't have the time). Now I KNOW what I've been missing! :D

i love the show and cc is so funny i love max and his voice oy i'll admite at first i hated frans voice it made me sick but it grew on me and it's one of the thinks that make her diffrent

I have always tested pretty high on IQ tests, and I freaking love this show. I was furious when they started showing it on Lifetime oh, I don't know, 17 times a day...but I actually sat through it a few times and gave it a chance. I think it's fabulous.
Fran Drescher may have an annoying voice, but she's been through more hardships than most people will know (i.e. rape, cancer, etc.), after that, the voice doesn't seem all that important. The lady deserves a break and I'm glad she got one with this show. Hey, at least she knows that she sounds like that....

I always love it when Fran makes fun of her own voice. She didn't have to do it, esp. since it was her own show, and she was the producer. But she chose to laugh about it. Plus I love the fact that Fran Fine never knew how annoying her voice was, LOL!

I'm sorry but I can't stand Fran Dresher, or The Nanny. I do like Charles Shaunnesy, who played her boss, but only because he was on Days of Our Lives. Don't hate me, please, but I was glad when this show was canceled.

LOL, same here. I would stay up pretty much all night last summer and I started watching it since it was on all night.

The Nanny though, I think is a show that you have to get used to before you like it. I remember the first time I saw it was a few years ago when I was staying at my friend's house and she liked The Nanny. All I could think was, "what the hell happened to her voice?" which really is kinda odd for me to ask since I often have frequent colds and throat problems that make my voice sound annoying for periods of time.

But then, when I was half asleep during the summer, I found that her voice didn't matter to me. It also helps it you focus on Niles and CC until you get used to her voice. I know at the beginning those two were the only reasons I didn't change the channel.

It's okay. I like it!

I agree, ZKS. I spend enough time posting about all the TV shows, that I do like, so it feels unnecessary to waste any time on a show, that I don't like. I have no social life to talk about, and even I have better things to do with my life than that. It has happened, that I have visited boards about some less favorite shows, but I only do that like, what, once every second year.

Having said, I really like "The nanny". Fran Drescher's voice never was a problem for me, and the cast were so good together.

they are both owned by Viacom. Its just stupid to air them the same time for most of the night.

put different shows on. there is no need for the same show on the same time on 2 different channels owned by the same company

I HATE this show!!! It is NOT funny whatsoever. And why on green earth is this show on two different channels own by the same company?! I've lost count of how many times i've change it to nick and there it is on, flip it over to tv land and there it is. On both channels at the same freaking time! Beyond stupid.

Why can't tv land go back to showing older shows? Like Green Acres, Mr. Ed, Get Smart, Hogans Heroes, etc.?
