It has been increasingly clear that Mary has become Young Sheldon season 5's villain, and to make matters worse, she doesn't even know it.

I was only a casual watcher of Big Bang Theory but it seemed from what Sheldon and his mother said about George, that he was an alcoholic, stupid and a lout. Nothing very positive to say about him, while on the Young Sheldon show, George is actually a pretty decent guy. I was thinking he was going to have an affair with the neighbor woman and now it’s Mary who might have an affair with the youth pastor.

So maybe Mary is the lout and not George.

As an aside, it’s about time for George to die, Sheldon is about 14 (in the timeline).
